How to Update Family Particulars

If there are any changes in family circumstances of the applicants (e.g. birth of children, death, change in marital status, etc.), the applicants must notify HD immediately, such that the applications for both the cash allowance and the PRH can be handled properly. For the updates of family circumstances / personal particulars, please refer to the Application Guide for the Cash Allowance Trial Scheme.

Update family circumstances / personal particulars when completing the Application Form

  • If the applicant has already submitted the document(s) to Applications Sub-section (PRH) for updating household particulars, the applicant may fill in the Application Form according to the latest family circumstances. Paragraph 2.2 of the Application Guide for the Cash Allowance Trial Scheme has set out detailed procedures and arrangements.
  • If there are changes in family circumstances but the applicants have not yet notified Applications Sub-section (PRH), the applicants must complete the form for updating household particulars of the PRH application; and submit it to Applications Sub-section (PRH) together with the required document(s).
  • The applicant may submit the Application Form to the Cash Allowance Office, together with the aforesaid form for updating household particulars of the PRH application and the required documents in one go. Paragraph 2.2.6 of the Application Guide of the Cash Allowance Trial Scheme has set out the detailed procedures and arrangements.
  • When Applications Sub-section (PRH) is updating particulars of the concerned household, the Cash Allowance Office will put on hold the processing of its application for the cash allowance. When Applications Sub-section (PRH) has completed updating the particulars, the Cash Allowance Office will assess the application for cash allowance.

Update family circumstances / personal particulars when receiving the cash allowance

  • The applicant households must complete the form for updating particulars of the PRH application; and submit it to Applications Sub-section (PRH) together with the required document(s).
  • The applicant households must also complete the Information Update Form(s) under CATS, and submit it to the Cash Allowance Office together with relevant supporting document(s) (if applicable).

How to submit the Information Update Form?

  • To send the form to "Cash Allowance Office, Housing Department, P.O. Box 209, Tsuen Wan Post Office" by post; or
  • To submit the form in the drop-in box of the HD within office hours* at the following locations –
    • Cash Allowance Office, Housing Department, 5/F, 1 Kwai On Road, Kwai Chung, the New Territories; or
    • Hong Kong Housing Authority Customer Service Centre, 3 Wang Tau Hom South Road, Kowloon

*Office hours of the Cash Allowance Office:
Monday to Friday - 08:30 - 18:00
(except public holidays)

Points to note on updates of family circumstances / personal particulars

  • The amount of cash allowance may be adjusted accordingly following an update of particulars of the PRH application. For details, please refer to Annex C of the Application Guide of the Cash Allowance Trial Scheme.
  • If an applicant household is no longer eligible for the cash allowance, no longer meets the eligibility criteria for PRH allocation or even PRH application due to changes in family circumstances, the Cash Allowance Office will adjust the amount of cash allowance or cease to disburse the cash allowance, and recover any overpaid amount (if applicable).
  • The Cash Allowance Office has the right to deduct any overpaid amount from the monthly cash allowance of the applicant household, and transfer the case of the applicant to Applications Sub-section (PRH) for verification of his/her eligibility for PRH application so as to determine whether the PRH application concerned should be disqualified, etc..
